Job description

Location: Remote (Germany - ideally NRW region)

Language: Native German, fluent English

Type: Full-time

Department: Risk & Underwriting

Industry: FinTech / SME Lending

Looking for a role where you can combine data, analysis, and real-world impact? We offer exactly that, and more. As our very first Senior Credit Underwriter for the German market, you’ll help shape our local underwriting operations from the ground up - working closely with our Senior Account Manager Partnerships to make fast, well-informed and responsible funding decisions.

Floryn is one of the fastest-growing FinTechs in the Netherlands - and soon across Europe! While others talk about innovation in finance, we do it 💪. With our proprietary technology and data-driven approach, we’re revolutionising business lending – making it fast, easy, and flexible for companies of all sizes.

With over €800 million in SME loans funded and a team of 70+ professionals, we’re now expanding into Germany, starting with Nordrhein-Westfalen - home to Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Essen and Köln.

Your role

As our Senior Credit Underwriter Germany, you are the credit expert in our brand new German team.  You assess credit applications, define funding conditions, and help localize our risk approach for the German market. Together with your commercial counterpart, the Senior Account Manager Partnerships, you ensure that promising leads become strong, well-structured deals.

You’ll work remotely, based in Germany or the Netherlands, and collaborate closely with colleagues in HQ.

What you’ll do

  • Assess SME credit applications up to €2.5 million, based on financial data and analysis.

  • Evaluate and monitor credit and fraud risks from German prospects and customers.

  • Adapt and improve our risk models and underwriting logic for Germany

  • Decide whether to approve or reject applications - and define the conditions.

  • Collaborate with the commercial team on client cases and strategic direction.

  • Share trends and feedback from the German market with the product and data teams.

Preferred Location

To stay close to our German partner base and keep travel to our Dutch HQ smooth, we prefer candidates based in or near Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Cologne, or Essen.

This role is fully remote, but you’ll occasionally join us for team days or partner events in the Netherlands (HQ in Den Bosch). We’ll take care of your travel and accommodation:

  • High-quality hotel next to our office

  • Dinner and fresh breakfast included

  • Full reimbursement of all travel costs

We make sure your visit is comfortable and well-organized, so you can focus on connecting with the team and enjoying the Floryn experience.

Job requirements

What your day might look like

You start your day with coffee and dive into a promising new credit application. At 9:00 AM, you sync with the Account Manager to discuss leads from last week’s event. Then it’s time to focus: you assess several applications, weighing risks and opportunities with the mindset of finding the “yes.”

Later, a Sales colleague checks in for advice on a client visit. You quickly run the numbers and share your insights. In the afternoon, you fine-tune a process improvement idea and share it with the Data team - helping make our tech smarter and faster than the day before.

What we offer

  • A key role in launching our German market; starting in NRW.

  • A competitive monthly salary of €6,000 - €7,500, 8% holiday pay + 30 vacation days.

  • Remote-first role with full flexibility, supported by powerful collaboration tools.

  • Occasional team days or events in Den Bosch (HQ - well connected by ICE/Thalys).

  • Personal development budget + wellness allowance.

  • MacBook Pro, iPhone, noise-cancelling headphones - everything you need to excel.

  • Reimbursement for business travel (including 1st class train options).

  • International scale-up culture, full of energy, ambition and impact.

  • Legendary company events, ski trips, and offsites in the Netherlands.

You communicate with clarity and confidence, always seeking ways to improve processes through tech and data.

Like us, you have international ambition. And you're ready to grow with a fast-moving company that values precision, bold thinking, and continuous improvement.
