Quantitative Business Analyst | 40 hours

Floryn started in 2016, literally in an attic room, with the mission that business financing should be fast, pleasant, and responsible through intensive use of their own software. We now have thousands of customers, 70 colleagues, automatically transfer millions of euros daily, and have lent more than 1 billion euros in total. Our financing helps entrepreneurs realise their ambitions. More than five hundred 5-star reviews show that we're on the right track.

What will you do?

At Floryn, being a Business/Data Analyst means more than tossing up dashboards and calling it done. You’ll jump into how things actually work, help define and take ownership of key metrics, and regularly join business reviews to say whether changes matter or are just noise. We treat analytics like a product, not disposable reports. You’ll focus on building durable insights, not just ticking boxes.

You’re not just good at calculating the metrics others ask for. You proactively dig into the data and come up with ideas that move the business forward. You understand the challenges our teams face, and you enjoy working closely with colleagues across the company to explore solutions. With strong communication skills and a clear grasp of what matters, you're comfortable sharing insights and guiding decisions. We’re not hung up on the tools you know. What matters is your mindset: curiosity, a bias for action, and the ability to translate data into impact.

You’ll also get the chance to work on our proprietary data-driven warning system and help shape our metric tree. We believe the best ideas often start small and grow through fast execution and visible business value. If that excites you, you’ll fit right in.

A day in the life

After the daily stand-up, you get a notification that one of our key sales metrics has dropped below its lower boundary. You dive into related metrics and notice that a specific segment has seen a sudden drop in follow-up activity. After digging deeper, you suspect a malfunction in one of the CRM workflows. You call with a sales lead to confirm your hunch, then sync with a developer to walk through the workflow logic together. You identify a recent change that unintentionally broke the automation, and you agree on a fix.

About the team

You’ll be part of a Data team that includes machine learning engineers, analytics engineers, and fellow analysts. Our ML engineers build models and data products that improve decision‑making on loan applications and portfolio management. Analytics engineers clean and model our raw data using dbt so analysts can thrive. The software Floryn uses to finance entrepreneurs, from the withdrawal platform and money transfer systems to our eligibility assessment tools and much more, is built entirely in house. We don’t use product managers; we design both the tech and its interface ourselves. This isn’t a ticket factory: everyone understands why we’re building something and what impact it has. Our platform is the core of our business, and we’re proud of that. We believe in healthy work relationships, long‑term solutions, not 70‑hour workweeks or quick hacks.

The technology

We work with a modern, open-source based stack. The data team works with SQL, dbt, Python, Metabase, Fivetran and Deepnote.

Our platforms run largely on Ruby on Rails and are hosted in Docker Containers on AWS. We ship new code to production every day.

What you'll bring

  • At least three years of experience working with data in a business setting

  • Experience working with DataFrames (Python and/or R) and visualising data to support decision-making

  • Experience working with SQL

  • A focus on solving the right problems, not just building dashboards

  • The ability to turn trends and questions into clear, actionable stories

  • Comfort working closely with teams across the business, not just behind a screen

  • A practical, long-term approach to analysis

What we offer

  • A salary based on your capabilities (range of €4000-€7000), pension contribution, and 30 vacation days

  • A MacBook Pro, Bose noise-cancelling headset, and all gear needed to do your job well; both at the office and at home

  • A flexible remote work policy, we have a nice office in the heart of Den Bosch, but you can also work from home. In this role, it’s important to regularly speak to colleagues face to face, so we do expect you to come in when the work benefits from it.

  • A daily gourmet lunch at the office

  • A first-class train pass, an (electric) lease bike if you live within cycling distance, or a mileage allowance of €0.23

  • A fun, diverse team and various activities from social drinks to sports

  • A generous education budget for courses, (international) conferences, books, or online training

Where you'll work

We're not a bank, but entrepreneurs. That's a different way of thinking, doing, and daring. We believe in financing with the best service and are here to help realise customers' ambitions.

With our beautiful office, we work in the heart of Den Bosch. Floryn not only realises the ambitions of their customers but also those of our own employees. In this flat organisation, you as an employee have influence on the company's results and positioning.

How to apply
We ask all applicants to submit a Dutch cover letter. This is required. In the letter, briefly describe how you’ve tackled a business problem using data. We read the cover letter first and only look at your CV if we see a good cultural and mindset fit.

The application process has two steps. First, you’ll come to our office for a conversation with the Head of Data and someone from the Data team. If there’s a match, we’ll invite you back for a separate three-hour assessment where you’ll work on a real business problem using our data.
