You’ll work with modern tools, collaborate with international colleagues, and play a key role in building our German lending operations.

Your role

As a Credit Underwriter in Germany, you will play a key role in assessing credit applications and supporting responsible lending decisions for German SMEs. Instead of relying on traditional financial statements, we work with bank transaction data, automated models and modern digital tools to assess risk quickly and accurately. This way, we can make faster lending decisions for SMEs. Our underwriting process is designed to be highly efficient and data-driven, allowing you to review multiple cases fast throughout the day in a dynamic environment.

What you’ll do

• Assess SME credit applications up to €2.5 million

• Analyse bank transactions, risk model output, cashflow data and financial statements

• Identify potential credit and fraud risks

• Work towards full automation of our credit decision process, while deciding on credit applications that are not eligible for an automated journey 

• Collaborate closely with the commercial team on client cases

• Contribute to improving underwriting processes and risk models

• Share insights and experience from the German market with our product and data teams

Location & travel

This is a remote-first role, and you can be based anywhere in Germany. Approximately twice a month, you’ll join colleagues at our headquarters in Den Bosch (Netherlands) for team days or collaboration sessions.

You are analytical, curious and comfortable working with financial data. You enjoy making well-founded decisions and balancing risk with business opportunity. You thrive in a fast-moving environment where technology and data help improve traditional financial processes. Working with international colleagues comes naturally to you, and you communicate clearly with both commercial and risk teams.

Furthermore, you have:

• A bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field

• 3–5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting or risk

• Experience analysing SME financial data

• Affinity with data-driven decision making and digital tools

• Experience in fintech or SME lending is a plus

• Native-level German and good command of English (B1 or higher)

Who you’ll be working for

Floryn is a fast-growing fintech company founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs. That means short lines of communication, the ability to move quickly, and a mindset focused on opportunities. Since its founding, Floryn has funded more than €800 million in SME loans and built a team of over 70 professionals.

We are currently expanding into Germany, where we are regulated by the German financial authority BaFin and have established strategic partnerships with leading broker platforms in the German SME financing market. As a Credit Underwriter, you will play a key role in supporting and accelerating this international growth.

You’ll work closely with both the German commercial team and the underwriting team in the Netherlands. Our underwriting team currently consists of seven colleagues, including a Senior Underwriter responsible for Germany.

In Germany, the local team is rapidly expanding and already includes 2 Key Account Managers and a Senior Underwriter. We are currently hiring an extra Account Manager and a Client Success Manager, and expect the German team to grow to 8-10 colleagues by the end of the year.
