Job description
Are you a compliance professional who thrives on pace, complexity and ownership, and are you looking for a broad role within compliance? Are you able to translate laws and regulations into practical solutions in an organisation that is constantly evolving? Then this is your opportunity to help build the growth of one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in the Netherlands as a Compliance Officer.
At Floryn, you combine legal sharpness with entrepreneurial energy. You ensure the organisation remains compliant without slowing down innovation. In fact, you help the business identify new opportunities within complex regulations. Floryn is growing rapidly, expanding internationally and dealing with continuously evolving regulatory frameworks. If you see compliance as a strategic challenge rather than a control function, you will fit in perfectly here.
About Floryn
Floryn, founded in 2015, is one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in the Netherlands – and recently beyond. Where traditional banks are often slow and complex, we make business financing fast, transparent and flexible. With our own technology, we are changing the way companies gain access to capital.
So far we have provided more than €800 million in SME loans and together with over 70 professionals, consisting of Dutch and international talent, we are working on our international ambitions. You will join an organisation with the energy of a startup and the momentum of a scale-up
The challenge of the role
As a Compliance Officer you play an important role in safeguarding and further developing regulatory compliance within Floryn. You think along about how processes can remain scalable within an organisation that is growing and internationalising rapidly. At the same time, you closely follow developments such as changes related to PSD2, DORA, Wwft, GDPR, AML regulations and new European legislation such as the AI Act.
You continuously move between legislation, technology and business interests. This means you do not only assess what is or is not allowed, but primarily help determine how things can be done in a compliant way. In this role it is important that you are able to prioritise effectively. You constantly weigh what requires immediate attention and what can be addressed later, ensuring compliance evolves together with the organisation’s growth without slowing down innovation.
This role is suited for someone who enjoys complex challenges and solving problems. You need to be confident in your position: you identify risks and make them discussable with different teams within the organisation. You advise on risks, policies and practical solutions. At the same time, you will have plenty of room to take initiative and further improve processes.
Your responsibilities include:
Developing, implementing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures
Monitoring compliance risks and advising on appropriate measures
Translating regulations such as PSD2, DORA, Wwft, GDPR and the AI Act into practical processes
Conducting checks and reviews to ensure compliance
Identifying opportunities for improvement and translating these into policy or process adjustments
Promoting compliance awareness across the organisation through training and communication
Collaborating with colleagues from different teams to identify risks at an early stage
What does Floryn offer?
Salary between €4,500 and €6,000 gross per month (based on 40 hours)
30 days of annual leave + 8% holiday allowance
Personal development budget and wellbeing allowance
MacBook, iPhone and noise-cancelling headset
Excellent travel reimbursement scheme: 1st class NS Business Card, (electric) lease bike, or €0.23 per kilometre
A beautiful office and working environment with great coffee and a Burgundian lunch in the vibrant city centre of ’s-Hertogenbosch. We prefer to work together in the office to move quickly and collaborate effectively.
Working within an international fintech scale-up with plenty of room for initiative
Regular team outings, offsites and memorable company events
Job requirements
A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree (for example in law, business administration, criminology or economics)
2 to 5 years of experience in a broad compliance role, preferably in a similar environment
Knowledge of regulations such as PSD2, Wwft, DORA and GDPR
Excellent command of the English language (Dutch is not required)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
The confidence to start conversations and raise improvement points
Curiosity and a proactive attitude – you aim to improve every day
You feel comfortable in an environment where the pace is high and regulations continuously evolve
Who you’ll be working for?
From the beautiful office in Den Bosch you will work with smart and driven colleagues who enjoy building something that grows beyond today. Floryn is not a bank, we are entrepreneurs. This means short lines of communication, quick decision-making and thinking in opportunities. New ideas are given space and good plans are executed quickly. This requires professionals who take initiative, take ownership and are not afraid of substantive challenges. A lot is expected from you, but you receive a lot in return: trust and direct impact on how Floryn shapes its growth.
Would you like to use your expertise in an environment where compliance is not a barrier, but a foundation for growth?
