Risk Traineeship - Underwriting

The Risk team plays a crucial role in achieving our ambitious goals. That’s why Floryn is actively looking for a Risk Trainee (Underwriter) to strengthen the Risk team.

What does your day look like?

• After grabbing your morning coffee, you’ll review the new loan applications that have come in for assessment. You’ll select an application and, with the support of our proprietary software, make sure we can give a clear answer to potential new customers within 24 hours!

• At 9:00 a.m., we kick off the day with the Risk team. Sometimes you’ll get a useful update—for example, about a marketing campaign—and other times, you might pick up some great streaming tips from your colleagues.

• After the team briefing, it’s time to get started on the new loan applications. In every case, you’ll look for ways to say “yes”—after all, our goal is to support as many customers as possible. You’ll perform the analysis and, either alone or together with others, make the final decision.

• At noon, it’s time to have a relaxed lunch in the company restaurant with your colleagues, followed by a game of table football, PlayStation, or a stroll through the historic city center of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

• After lunch, you’ll quickly pick up another application. While you’re working, a Sales colleague might drop by to brainstorm about an important meeting with a potential big client scheduled for the next day. With the help of our smart analytics tools, you’ll instantly review the available information and suggest some key talking points. Happy colleague—and you can get back to finishing your assessment.

• In the last part of the afternoon, you’ll set aside time to refine and discuss the improvements you’ve identified with our Data team. Thanks to you, our technology will be even better and more efficient than it was yesterday!

You are responsible for

• Analyzing the risks of a loan based on the available data provided with the application.

• Continuously improving and updating our risk models and technology – you take initiative in this, even when not specifically asked 🙂.

• Assessing and monitoring the credit and fraud risks of both prospects and customers.

• Deciding whether a loan application is approved or declined, and under what conditions.

• Collaborating effectively with our Sales team to help make Floryn an even greater success.

Who are we looking for?

At Floryn, we’re always on the lookout for talent! We’re seeking someone with the makings of an Underwriter, but above all, we want an entrepreneurial spirit—someone who spots opportunities and is eager to shine 🔥.

• You have an eye for detail, are thorough, and can make well-founded decisions about which businesses we can and cannot support with credit.

• You’re driven, analytically strong, and not afraid of change.

• You communicate clearly and hold your own in conversations with Sales or clients.

• Your thinking and working level is at least Bachelor’s degree (WO) standard.

• You have up to two years of experience in an analytical and/or financial role—but if you don’t, no worries. We’ll help you get it!

• If you already have experience working with data and risk models, you’re already one step ahead.

• Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential.

• At a minimum; you should be able to read Dutch
