Job description

As a Data Analytics Engineer at Floryn, you'll be part entrepreneur, engineer and analyst. You should be interested in how the business operates, what makes the machine tick, but also how you can leverage technology to gain insight into this. You will do this by creating scalable, robust analytical data foundations in dbt, defining metrics with the business stakeholders and building insights on top in Looker that drive business decisions. You will work together with a variety of different people: Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Developers and Commercial teams to understand their data requirements and barriers to growth, then translate these to flexible solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Architecting, optimising, and transforming data models in dbt for flexible analysis by data analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders.

  • Empowering teams to leverage data for decision-making while providing support where data expertise is limited.

  • Advance automation efforts that help the team spend less time validating data, and more time analysing it.

  • Apply software engineering best practices like version control, documenting, unit testing and continuous integration to the analytics code base.

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to drive client success based on their business objectives.

  • Rapidly deliver on new concepts through prototyping that can be presented for feedback and iteration.

Technology

At Floryn, we've got a treasure trove of fascinating data on customer behaviour, marketing channels, sales, CRM, loan administration, company financials, and even some cool machine learning models. We're all about efficiency, which is why we use dbt for seamless data transformations, allowing you to reuse metrics across reports. Our BI tool of choice is Looker, where we love to create simple yet impactful visualisations and dashboards that tell a compelling story. We also leverage Hightouch for reverse ETL and Deepnote for building proof of concepts.
